Design for All?

The Brazilian Design Biennial adopted “Design for All” as the theme for its 2015 edition, highlighting projects of the so-called “accessible design” or “universal design”, aimed at all people, regardless their age, gender, ability or cultural background. A group of graphic designers was invited by the curators Bruno Porto and Rico Lins to develop posters to disseminate this concept. The poster was created with the intention of reproducing for the general public a bit of the experience of a visually impaired person: How do you feel to come accross a message that has not been prepared for you? How do you feel living in a society that does not include you? The message reproduced in Braille in the poster states: “Can you see me?”
