Description

The exhibition Picasso and the Spanish Modernity took place at CCBB – Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil, in both São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. With around 90 works from the Coleção do Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid, it shows the influence of Picasso in modern Spanish art and his relationship with other masters, as Gris, Miró, Dalí, Domínguez and Tàpies. The visual communication removes the extensive captions of the works from the walls, and moves them to the structure built in the ground by exhibition designers to ensure the necessary distance from the public, guaranteeing the safety of the artwork. In São Paulo, a large mobile filling the void of the building, and in Rio a maze at the rotunda are both used to display the name of the exhibition and the list of the 36 artists participating in the show.
